Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political, economic, and religious instability have all hindered the development of many small churches. African NGOs often struggle to secure resources for their communities, and small churches in developing countries often struggle to find support that matches their capacities and needs. To address this, the Interdenominational Assembly of Churches, a ministry of Eric Michel Ministries Internationa<\/strong>l, launched the African Churches Association website<\/em><\/strong> (http:\/\/ericmichelministries.com<\/a>) to unite Christian churches of all denominations. Our NGO makes it easier for small Christian churches to access resources from a variety of sources. We are also developing a Premium Membership service tailored to meet your needs, based on available resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Users can create public or private profiles and groups and share materials within them, all accessible via a web browser. Beyond standard social networking features, members can share resources that others in the group can use or adapt for their own church services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many ministers spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars from church income on business-related expenses each year. To receive reimbursement, ministers must provide clear documentation showing that these expenses were for legitimate church purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some churches lack established policies and procedures for approving church-related expenses in advance. Clear expense policies guide staff and members on how to complete expense forms properly and identify which costs qualify for reimbursement. Travel expenses are only deductible when ministers are away from home overnight on church business; otherwise, usually only transportation costs are allowed. To claim deductions, ministers must prove their expenses were legitimate church business by providing third-party documentation, such as cancelled checks, purchase receipts, or credit card statements. Receipts are required for all business expenses, including cash payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the “five Ws”\u2014Why<\/strong><\/mark> (business purpose), What<\/mark><\/strong> (itemized description), Who<\/mark><\/strong> (names of those present), When<\/mark><\/strong> (date), and Where<\/mark><\/strong> (location) are written on the back of receipts or cancelled checks, the Taxation Office is generally satisfied. While using a church credit card typically counts as reimbursement, it does not automatically serve as proof; you still need additional documentation showing the church business purpose.
