{"id":272,"date":"2026-09-20T20:06:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T20:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ericmichelministries.com\/?page_id=272"},"modified":"2026-09-20T22:45:45","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T22:45:45","slug":"structure","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ericmichelministries.com\/?page_id=272","title":{"rendered":"Structure"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Church Structure<\/strong>: Bishops oversee specific geographic areas called dioceses, and their role is central to the Catholic Church\u2019s structure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Population vs. Clergy: The number of priests needed depends on the Catholic population in a given area and the number of available clergy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The distribution of priests is not uniform, leading to substantial differences in the ratio across continents: Europe and North America have higher priest-to-Catholic-population ratios. This results in a much lower priest-to-bishop ratio than on other continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Africa and South America, despite having significant Catholic populations, have far fewer priests, resulting in a much higher priest-to-bishop ratio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The priest-to-bishop ratio varies, with a global average of about 76 priests per bishop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/franciscansimmaculate.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/cdn.gif\" alt=\"\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.7945837329314518;width:162px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>CANADA:<\/strong> The Structure for Eric Michel Ministries International is the Archdiocese in the American Province of the Three Marys: Mary, the mother of Jesus; Mary Magdalene; and Mary Salome. In EMMI, a country is a district, and each district contains numerous local churches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;<strong>Province of Mid-Africa&nbsp;<\/strong>includes the District of the Central African Republic, the District of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the District of Gabon, the District of the Republic of Congo, the District of Tanzania and the District of Zambia. The conference will have five bishops. First Bishop: Sylvestre Moussounda, Mafuta Carnado, a Seminarian and Lay Minister. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Province of East Africa<\/strong> with the Districts of Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Uganda.
