Eric Michel Ministry is an evangelical faith, emphasizing the reliability of the Bible
and the need for the transformation of an individual's life through faith in Jesus.
We adhere to the Bible's divine inspiration and inerrancy, the belief that the Bible,
in the original manuscripts in which it was written, is infallible.
We emphasize the teaching of the "full gospel" or "foursquare gospel". The term
to the four fundamental beliefs of Eric Michel Ministry:
- Jesus saves according to John 3:16;
- baptizes with the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4;
- heals bodily according to James 5:15;
- and is coming again to receive those who are saved according to
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17.
The central belief of Eric Michel Ministry is that through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, sins
can be forgiven and humanity reconciled with God. This is the Gospel or "good news". The fundamental requirement
of Eric Michel Ministry is that one be born again. The new birth is received by the grace of God through faith in Christ
as Lord and Savior. In being born again, the believer is regenerated, justified, adopted into the family of God, and the
Holy Spirit's work of sanctification is initiated
Pentecostal soteriology is generally Arminian rather than Calvinist. The security of the believer is a doctrine held
within Eric Michel Ministry; nevertheless, this security is conditional upon continual faith and repentance.
We believe in both a literal heaven and hell, the former for those who have accepted God's gift of salvation and
the latter for those who have rejected it.
There is no other requirement to receive salvation. Baptism with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues are not
generally required, our converts are usually encouraged to seek these experiences. A notable exception is Jesus'
Name, Eric Michel Ministry, most adherents of which believe both water baptism and Spirit baptism are integral
components of salvation.
Baptism with the Holy Spirit
Baptism into the body of Christ: This refers to salvation. Every believer in Christ is made a part of his body,
the Church, through baptism. The Holy Spirit is the agent, and the body of Christ is the medium. Water baptism:
Symbolic of dying to the world and living in Christ, water baptism is an outward symbol of that which has already
been accomplished by the Holy Spirit, namely baptism into the body of Christ.
Baptism with the Holy Spirit: This is an empowering experience distinct from baptism into the body of Christ. In this
baptism, Christ is the agent and the Holy Spirit is the medium. While the figure of Jesus Christ and his redemptive
work are at the center of Pentecostal theology, that redemptive work is believed to provide for a fullness of the
Holy Spirit of which believers in Christ may take advantage. We believe that at the moment a person is born again,
the new believer has the presence (indwelling) of the Holy Spirit.While the Spirit dwells in every Christian,
We believe that all Christians should seek to be filled with him. The Spirit's "filling",
"falling upon", "coming upon", or being "poured out upon" believers is called the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
We define it as a definite experience occurring after salvation whereby the Holy Spirit comes upon the believer to
anoint and empower him or her for special service. It has also been described as "a baptism into the love of God"
- 1 We believe in the one ever-living, eternal God: infinite in power, Holy in nature, attributes and purpose;
and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father, through
His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation. (1 Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:6; 2 Cor. 5:19; Joel 2:28).
- The Scripture does more than attempt to prove the existence of God; it asserts, assumes and declares
that the knowledge of God is universal. (Romans 1:19, 21, 28, 32; 2:15). God is invisible, incorporeal,
without parts, without body, and therefore free from all limitations. He is Spirit (John 4:24), and a
spirit hath not flesh and bones.(Luke 24:39).
- Creation. We believe the triune God created the universe apart from pre-existing materials and without
any evolutionary process. We believe in the historicity of the first eleven chapters of Genesis
(Genesis 1:1; Nehemiah 9:6; Psalms 102:25; Acts14:15).
- 2 We Believe the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the divinely inspired Word of
God without error in the original writings, and the final authority for all Christian faith and life
(II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:21).
- 3 We Believe in one God, infinite, perfect and eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and
Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14).
- The first of all the commandments is, hear, 0 Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord" (Mark 12:29; Deut. 6:4).
"One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Eph. 4:6).
- Satan. We believe that Satan was originally created a perfect being. He rebelled against God. As a
result he became depraved, the devil and adversary of God and His people, the leader of a host of
angels who fell with him. Satan has been judged and defeated at the cross and awaits his ultimate
doom at the conclusion of the Millennial Reign which takes place after the Second Advent of
Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:2; I Thessalonians 3:5; I Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9; 20:1-3; 7-10)
- The Fall of Man. Man was created good and upright; for God said, "Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness!" However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only
physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God
(Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19).
- The Salvation of Man. Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ
the Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord
Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, being justified by
grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life
(Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7).
- This one true God manifested Himself in the Old Testament in divers ways; in the Son while He walked
among men; as the Holy Spirit after the ascension.
- 4 We Believe in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His unqualified deity, His sinless humanity, the
eternal all-sufficiency of His atoning death, His bodily resurrection and His ascension to His Father’s
right hand (I Corinthians 15:3-4; John 1:1, 20:24-29; Hebrews 4:15; I Timothy 2:5; Revelation 20:1-6).
- The one true God, the Jehovah of the Old Testament, took upon Himself the form of man, and as the
Son of man, was born of the virgin Mary. As Paul says "and without controversy great is the mystery
of Godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the
Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory" (1 Timothy 3:16).
- "He came unto His own, and His own received Him not" (John 1:11). This one true God was manifest in
the flesh, that is, in His Son Jesus Christ. ". . God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not
imputing their trespasses unto them. . ." (2 Cor. 5:19).
- 5 We believe that, ". ., in Him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Col. 2:9). "For
it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell" (Col. 1:19). Therefore, Jesus in His humanity
was man; in His deity was and is God. His flesh was the lamb, or the sacrifice of God. He is the only
mediator between God and man. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5).
- Jesus on His Father's side was divine, on His mother's side, human; Thus, He was known as the Son
of God and also the son of man, or the God-man.
- "For He hath put all things under His feet. But when He saith all things are put under Him, it is manifest
that He is excepted, which did put all things under Him" (1 Cor. 15:27). "And when all things shall be
subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him,
that God may be all in all" (1 Cor. 15:28).
- "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which
is to come, the Almighty" (Rev. 1:8).
- 6 We Believe in the personal and imminent, pre-tribulation return of Jesus Christ for His church, i.e.,
the rapture; the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ with His church, and His millennial reign on earth
(Hebrews 9:28; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-6; I Corinthians 15:51; Philippians 3:20-21;
- 7 We Believe that justification is a judicial act of God on the believer’s behalf solely through faith in
Christ’s death and resurrection (Romans 3:24,26; 4:18-25; 5:1; I Corinthians 6:11; Galatians 3:24).
- 8 We Believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is under condemnation,
and that it is only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the
Holy Spirit that salvation can be obtained (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:1-13; John 14:6; Acts 4:12;
I Timothy 2:5-6).
- In the beginning God created man innocent, pure and holy; but through the sin of disobedience, Adam
and Eve, the first of the human race, fell from their holy state, and God banished them from Eden.
Hence by one man's disobedience, sin entered into the world. (Gen. 1:27; Rom. 3:23, 5:12).
- Pardon and forgiveness of sins is obtained by genuine repentance, a confessing and forsaking of sins.
We are justified by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1). John the Baptist preached repentance,
Jesus proclaimed it, and the Apostles emphasized it to both Jews and Gentiles. (Acts 2:38, 11:18, 17:30).
- The word "repentance" comes from several Greek words which mean, change of views and purpose,
change of heart, change of mind, change of life, to transform, etc.
- Jesus said, -except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3).
- Luke 24:47 says, "And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among
all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."
- 9 We Believe that water Baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed
by the church during the present age (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; I Corinthians 11:17-34).
- The scriptural mode of baptism is immersion, and is only for those who have fully repented, having
turned from their sins and a love of the world. It should be administered by a duly authorized minister of
the Gospel, in obedience to the Word of God, and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to
the Acts of the Apostles 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5; thus obeying and fulfilling Matthew 28:19.
- John the Baptist, in Matthew 3:11, said, "...He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire."
- Jesus, in Acts 1:5, said, "...Ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence."
- Luke tells us in Acts 2:4, they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues
(languages), as the Spirit gave them utterance."
- The terms "baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire," "filled with the Holy Spirit," and the "gift of the
Holy Ghost" are synonymous terms used interchangeably in the Bible.
- t is scriptural to expect all who receive the gift, filling, or baptism of the Holy Spirit to receive the same
physical, initial sign of speaking with other tongues.
- 10 We Believe that the Christian life involves discipleship, obedience to the Word of God, holiness,
witness and service through the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 1:8; 2:38;
II Corinthians 6:14-18; 7:1) .
- 11 We Believe in the baptism with the Holy Spirit with the initial physical evidence of speaking in other
tongues (Acts 2:4; 4:31; 10:46; I Corinthians 12:13-14; Ephesians 5:18).
- The speaking with other tongues, as recorded in Acts 2:4, 10:46, and 19:6, and the gift of tongues,
as explained in 1 Corinthians, chapters 12 and 14, are the same in essence, but different in use
- The Lord, through the Prophet Joel, said, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; ..." (Joel 2:28).
- Peter, in explaining this phenomenal experience, said, having received of the Father the promise
of the Holy Ghost. He (Jesus) hath shed forth this which ye now see and hear." (Acts 2:33).
- Further, "...The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many
as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2:39).
- 12 We Believe in the demonstration of the gifts of the Spirit, and the manifestation of the fruit of
the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
- 13 We Believe in the divine healing of the human body as provided for in the atonement, which is
a privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4,5; James 5:14,15).
- The first covenant that the Lord (Jehovah) made with the children of Israel after they were brought
out of Egypt was a covenant of healing. The Lord said, ". . If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice
of the Lord (Jehovah, the Lord that healeth) thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight,
and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases
upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the Lord that healeth thee."
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).
- The vicarious suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ paid for the healing of our bodies, the same as for
the salvation of our souls, for with His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). Matthew 8:17 reads,
Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses" (See also I Peter 2:24).
- We see from this that divine healing for the body is in the atonement. That being true, then it is for
all who believe. Jesus said of believers, ". . They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
Later, James wrote in his Epistle to all the churches: "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the
elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed
sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye
may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:14-16).
- All of these promises are for the church today
- 14 We Believe in Heaven as the eternal inheritance of the believers, and in Hell and the Lake of Fire
as the place of eternal doom for the devil, his angels, and all unbelievers
(John 14:1-3; Revelation 20:10-15, 21:1-6).
- 15 We Believe that the true Church consists of all who through faith in Jesus Christ have been
regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united in the Body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22; 4:3-6).
- 16 We Believe in and practice the five-fold Ministries and the supporting Ministries to be operational
in the Church (Ephesians 4:11-13).
- 17 Communion on the night of our Lord's betrayal, He ate the Passover supper with His Apostles,
after which He instituted the sacrament. "And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave
unto them, saying, this is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise
also the cup after supper saying, this cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you."
- Paul instructed the church how to observe it (I Cor. 11:23-34).
- Thus was instituted the use of literal bread and the fruit of the vine, which are partaken of literally,
as emblems of His broken body and shed blood. There is also a spiritual significance and blessing
in partaking of the sacrament.
- 18 Foot Washing When the Passover supper was ended, we read in John 13:4-5, "He riseth from
upper, and laid aside His garments; and took a towel, and girded Himself. After that He poureth
water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith
He was girded."
- Jesus said, "If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one
another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you"
- This first example was given by our Lord, and it is a divine institution. It is well to follow His example
- and wash one another's feet; thus manifesting the spirit of humility.
- 19 According to the Word of God, we firmly believe and hold that the people of God should
have no connection whatever with secret societies or any other organization or body
wherein there is a fellowship with unbelievers, bound by an oath. (James 5:12;
- 20 We believe tithing is God's financial plan to provide for His work, and has been since the
days of Abraham. Tithing came with faith under Abraham, Moses' law enjoined it, and Israel practiced
it when she was right with God; Jesus indorsed it (Matt. 23:23); and Paul said to lay by in store as God
has prospered you. Do not rob God of His portion, visit., tithes and offerings.
- Tithes and Offerings. The needs of the New Testament Church, its varied ministries along with its
God ordained leadership are to be met by the tithes and offerings of the believers (Matthew 23:23;
I Corinthians 16:1; II Corinthians 9:6-7).
- 21 Biblical Marriage. The Bible is the highest authority for both church and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
In constituting the first accredited institution in society, God defined marriage as being exclusively
between one man and one woman, and all other variations are gross distortions of God’s plan.
(Gen. 1:27, 2:18, 23-24).
- Homosexual behavior is sin because it is disobedient to the most basic scriptural and moral teachings
which define the church: “If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done
what is detestable.” (Leviticus 20:13 NIV).
- When the church condones detestable behavior, it becomes detestable to God.
(Romans 1:25–27, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:9-10). It is sin because it violates the created order for
families Condoning homosexual behavior brings destruction upon the church institution
(Genesis 19:4–11, 24-25), Testament moral law, including prohibitions against homosexual behavior.
- 22 Racism. God created all men equal in value and imputed upon them dignity and God Image.
One is never partially in the Image of God any more than one may be partially alive. Attempts to
identify, treat, or view certain people or groups as lesser members of humankind are a blasphemous
affront to our Creator.
- Racism in all its forms is sin, for it grounds the identity and security of human life in self rather than God,
in creature rather than the Creator, apart from whom a human being has no identity or value.
Self-indulgent pride in “race,” therefore, must be regarded as idolatry in one of its most ugly forms, an
attempt to be like God. We believe prejudice to be an attempt to reverse the creative act of God and
what God has valued, let no man devalue.
- Secondly, racism is an attempt to reverse the redemptive act of Christ. In Jesus Christ, God became
a Man and so identified Himself fully with every member of the human family in whatever nation or
culture they may be found. Jesus Christ has removed all barriers that stand between human beings,
giving reconciliation through His cross.
- Thirdly, through the means of grace, God empowers and commands all Christians “to abstain from the
passions of the flesh that wage war against the soul,” including the sin of racism. (Gen. 1:26-27; 9:6;
Jn. 13:35, 15:12-13; Acts 17:24-26; 1 Cor. 1:13; Gal. 3:26-28; Eph. 2:13-16; Tim. 2:3-6; 1 Pet. 1:22;
1 John 2:9-10)
